With nearly 25 years of chiropractic experience — including 10 years managing his own private practice — Dr. Potvin brings deep expertise and genuine passion to every patient at Pacific Spine & Rehab's Carlsbad and Oceanside locations.
He enjoys getting to know his patients' jobs, sports, and hobbies to better understand the underlying causes of their neck and back issues. The most rewarding part of his work, he says, is "seeing the patients progress from their initial visit to how much they improve from our services."
Born in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, he earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Laurentian University and his Doctor of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Science University.
Fun fact: Dr. Derek was a hockey player in college!
