What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy delivers focused acoustic pulses into a stalled tendon to restart the body's repair signal. It's the right tool when a tendinopathy has plateaued on stretching, ice, and rest.
At our Bressi Ranch clinic we run shockwave most for tennis elbow from local pickleball and tennis play, golfer's elbow from the La Costa Resort circuit, and patellar tendinopathy in Coast Highway runners.

What shockwave treats
At our Bressi Ranch office, shockwave is used for stubborn tendon and fascia pain that hasn't settled with rest, stretching and ice.
How many sessions
Sessions take 10 to 15 minutes. Most Carlsbad patients book three to six sessions spaced a week apart. You can drive yourself and keep training at a reduced load between sessions.
Cost
A first shockwave visit is $75 for new patients. We quote self-pay rates in writing, accept HSA and FSA cards, and offer CareCredit financing for longer care plans.
What to expect
Sessions run 10 to 15 minutes plus a few minutes for check-in. The provider locates the painful tendon, applies gel, and runs the shockwave head along the area. You can drive yourself, hit a meeting after, and keep training at a reduced load between sessions. Most Carlsbad patients book three to six weekly sessions.
Your first visit

We review your history and goals before any hands-on work.

Posture, range of motion, joint mechanics and orthopedic or neurological tests.

When the exam clears you, your first treatment happens the same visit.
Before you arrive
Why Carlsbad
Pickleball elbow from Aviara, tennis elbow from La Costa, golfer's elbow from the Resort — we see these every week and the protocol is dialed.
Sessions are short enough for a midday block. Park in the plaza, get treated, walk back across the courtyard with coffee.
We share patients with two Encinitas physical therapists and several Carlsbad and La Costa tennis pros — your training and treatment stay aligned.
