What is shockwave therapy?
Shockwave therapy uses focused acoustic pulses to push controlled mechanical stress into a stalled tendon or fascia. That stress restarts the tissue's repair signal — the same cascade you'd want from rest, but actually triggered.
It's the tool we reach for when plantar fasciitis, tennis elbow, or rotator-cuff pain has plateaued on stretching and ice. No needles, no downtime, no boot.

A patient shares how chiropractic care and shockwave therapy at Pacific Spine & Rehab in Oceanside fit into getting back to jogging.

What to expect
Most Oceanside shockwave visits run 20 minutes total — you change nothing about your day. The provider locates the tender tendon, applies gel, and runs a 10-minute pass. Plantar fasciitis cases get an extra two minutes on the medial heel. You walk out, drive yourself home, and there's no boot or restriction. Most Camp Pendleton patients schedule their next session a week out and stay on light running between visits.

We review your history and goals before any hands-on work.

Posture, range of motion, joint mechanics and orthopedic or neurological tests.

When the exam clears you, your first treatment happens the same visit.

Why Oceanside
It's the single most common case at Vista Way. Our clinicians run shockwave on heel pain so often that the protocol is dialed in for runners and Marines who can't afford to stop loading.
We hold weekday morning blocks specifically for Camp Pendleton plantar-fasciitis cases so you can be back in formation by midday.
Most patients are cleared for normal training the same day. We coordinate load adjustments with your unit corpsman if needed.

FAQ
Plan on being in the building 20 minutes total — about 10 to 15 minutes of treatment, plus check-in. You can drive yourself and go straight back to work or base.
Most plantar fasciitis patients at Vista Way see meaningful change in three to six weekly sessions. Stubborn or longstanding cases sometimes run to eight.
No. Shockwave doesn't require a boot, doesn't restrict running, and doesn't generate a profile. We can write a unit-friendly summary if your command needs documentation.
Yes. Bring recent imaging on a disc, a portal link, or your phone. A photo of the report is also useful.
Ask the office to check your specific MedPay or personal injury claim. Pacific Spine & Rehab does not participate with most health plans.
